POSCO ENERGY runs a LNG Terminal at Gwangyang.
We are growing into a Gas & Power-centered energy company by linking LNG terminal
with power generation business.
Total storage capacity 730,000㎘
POSCO ENERGY entered into ‘Gwangyang LNG Terminal project transfer agreement’ at the board meeting in April, 2019 and started to undertake the LNG Terminal project from September.
Gwangyang LNG Terminal is Korea's first private LNG terminal and has the equipment that loads and unloads, stores, evaporates,

Classification | Equipment use |
---|---|
LNG tank | stores LNG (liquefied natural gas) |
LNG pump | applies pressure to the low-pressure LNG for supply to carburettor in high pressure |
BOG recondenser | blends the compressed evaporation gas with LNG and liquefies again. |
Carburettor | elevates the temperature of seawater or burns the LNG and then vaporizes LNG with the heat that occurs |
BOG compressor | compresses the evaporation gas that comes from LNG storage tank and piping |
SOG compressor | compresses the BOG compressed from BOG compressor and sends out to the KOGAS pipe network |
LPG storage tank | stores LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) |
LNG Value Chain is the process of developing natural gas, transporting and supplying to the final consumption stage.
POSCO ENERGY is planning to amplify the synergy by unifying the Midstream and Downstream under one authority with Gwangyang LNG terminal operation, rental business, and LNG combined cycle power plant operation.
