The Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plant in Samcheok is an eco-friendly power generation facility
built on a former limestone mine to minimize environmental impact.
POSCO ENERGY plans to install efficient and eco-friendly ultra-supercritical generation equipment,
investing about 510 billion KRW in environmental management facilities to minimize the release of pollutants.
By establishing our own internal standards that are much more stringent than the Ministry of
Environment’s particulate emission standards, our new plant will be Korea’s most eco-friendly
Coal-Fired thermal power generation facility.
