The Off-gas Combined Cycle Power Plant generates power by using off-gas produced in steelmaking process. It is an eco-friendly power plant providing a substitute for crude oil imports by some KRW 57 billion and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by around 180,000 tons per year.

Operation Principles for Off-gas Combined Cycle Power Plantt

The Off-gas Combined Cycle Power Plant uses a method in which a gas turbine generates electricity in the initial cycle by combusting off-gas. Then the HRSG recovers the waste heat generated from the gas turbine and produces steam. The steam is then used to drive the steam turbine which generates power.
